Wait on the Rain

I must learn to trust
that the answer is coming,
that this very moment,
when I feel the same
or even more in pain,
that the rain is brewing,

just off the horizon.

It takes time to build a rain cloud,
to gather up the material,
for the conditions to be just right.

Particularly one to wash away
this much dust.

Unanswered?

I was beating on the door,
pleading to understand
why it won’t open.

But the door doesn’t open that way.
It’s an automatic door,
and no pushing or pulling
can open it.
